Our Living Bean Fence

In 2012, The Garden Party secured grants from several charitable foundations to replace the existing wooden fence at the entrance to the garden with an attractive new "living bean fence". Beans are a staple crop of The Garden Party and are very well received by the food kitchens for their versatility and nutritional content. A small team of committed volunteers worked diligently throughout May and early June to complete the trellis fence, which is a now a focal point of the garden.
